License, Updates & Continuity

The short version: Vayli is a one-time purchase. You pay once, there is no subscription, and you can keep using the version you have. All Vayli 1.x updates are included. If we ever stop offering activation, you get at least 6 months’ notice and a final version that needs no online check.

What you are buying

A perpetual license for Vayli 1.x: one License Key that unlocks every tool on one Windows PC at a time. “Perpetual” means the license has no end date. It stops only if it ends under the Terms (for example a refund, a chargeback or key sharing). There are no monthly or annual fees for Vayli 1.x.

One key, one PC at a time

You can move Vayli to a new PC whenever you like. Deactivate the key in Vayli on the old PC, install Vayli on the new PC and enter the same key. If you can’t reach your old PC, email us from your purchase email address and we’ll help.

Your installed version is yours to keep using

Vayli runs on your PC with no account. Our Cloudflare-hosted service at api.vayli.in anchors trials and verifies licenses with Dodo Payments. After activation, Vayli requests a signed license proof on startup and during renewal. The proof is valid for up to 3 days offline. When it expires, an online check is needed to unlock licensed tools again. You can keep using your installed version without installing updates, subject to these license checks.

Updates

All Vayli 1.x updates are included at no extra charge, delivered through the Microsoft Store.

We keep publishing Vayli 1.x updates while 1.x is our current major version.

After Vayli 2.0 is released, we keep providing critical security and compatibility fixes for Vayli 1.x for at least 12 months, and in any case for at least 24 months from your purchase date.

Vayli 2.0 and later major versions are paid upgrades. Existing license holders may get a discount, but we don’t promise one.

If the Microsoft Store stops being available for updates, we’ll provide them another way, such as a download on vayli.in.

If something changes

If license activation ever has to stop (for example Dodo Payments stops operating, we change payment or license provider, or we close the business):

we will give at least 6 months’ notice, and aim for 12, on this site and by email where we hold your address; and

before that date we will release a final version of Vayli 1.x that does not need any online license check, so you can keep using it.

This is our commitment and doesn’t limit any right you have under law.

What is not covered

Features that depend on outside services (weather, currency rates, and services you connect yourself). They can change or stop without affecting your license.

Support for Windows versions that Microsoft no longer supports.

Your data. Back up anything important. Uninstalling the app may remove its stored data.

Businesses and teams

A company can buy a license. It belongs to the company and can be used by one person on one PC at a time. For several PCs, buy one license each or contact us about team licenses.

Ownership changes

A license can be transferred once to an heir or to a company that takes over your business. Email us with proof. We can also transfer our obligations to a successor of Modi Studio, which must honor these commitments.
